"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27
In October 2001, Vision International Missions (VIM) opened the Ti Palmiste Community Orphanage on the island of La Gonave Haiti.
God invited Lender and Melissa to look after the orphans, orphanage staff, and the community of Ti Palmiste, all in need of discipleship according to the call Jesus commissioned them to in Matthew 28:18-20.
Our goal as missionaries in Haiti is to meet the physical, emotional and spirtual needs of the children and staff at the Ti Palmiste Community Orphanage; as well as the community in the village of Ti Palmiste, on the island of La Gonave. This is not accomplished with our own strength, but the grace, mercy and will of our Father.
Haiti is the third largest country in the Caribbean. It is one of the world's poorest countries filled with corruption, poor infrastructure, lack of health care and lack of education.
The island of La Gonave is northwest of Port-au-Prince in the Gulf of Gonave. The island is approximately 37 miles long and 9 miles wide. The island has barren, dry soil with low annual rainfall amounts, which limits agricultural development and economic progress.
Ti Palmiste is a small village near the center of the island.
We rely on individuals, families, and churches for our monthly support. Your support goes directly to meet our basic living expenses, allowing us to serve the Lord as administrators of the Ti Palmiste Community Orphanage. Your commitment can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or by online donation.
Haiti is a country filled with spiritual oppression. We need people who will commit to covering us with prayer on a regular basis.
